I am not much of a gardener, I will be the first to admit. That being said, I have had what I consider to be several miracles happen in my own yard. I am forever fascinated by the beautiful colors yielded by planting a single seed, and I am always fair game for trying to record that beauty in whatever medium is within arm's reach.

The first images I sold as an adult artist were the watercolor roses displayed in the digital gallery at the right. They were created as donations for the 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser at Loveland's Independence Gallery. They were created in January, in the dead of winter here in Colorado, and I greatly enjoyed studying the photographs I had taken during warmer days, while painting them.

It is not difficult to see why Georgia O'Keefe chose to study flowers so closely in her work.
